New baby and a new business? What a decision

As a few of you may or may not have noticed, in addition to my face to face personal training and my sports massage businesses I’ve recently branched out into the online coaching world.

Now for any of you that know me, you’ll know I’m not one for sitting around, beavering away on the laptop and staring at screens all day every day… ‘so why make this decision and start a business where you need to be infront of a computer for extended periods of time?’ I hear you ask, well the answer is threefold

  1. Not everyone needs a coach face to face. By taking part of the business online, I have infinitely more access to people that want/need help, but for whatever reason, can’t/don’t want to come to the gym. My ability to help these people is no longer limited by the fact that I see people face to face.

  1. Time at home. Now my little girl has arrived I want to be around more at home, watching, helping and bonding with her. My online coaching will allow me to work from home a bit more and see my wonderful young daughter grow up. Not only that but I can give Sophie a break from being mum for an hour or two at a time so she can rest and be the best version of herself for little Ronnie.

  1. Passive income - as I’m sure many of you are aware, being self-employed has its perks and its negatives. The narrative of ‘it must be great to pick and choose your own hours’ is a little old school. In reality we say yes to everything, to the detriment of family time and home life and don’t get paid for time off such as holidays. This will allow me to create slightly more freedom, whilst helping as many people as I can, change their lifestyles and achieve their fitness goals

Now admittedly, not sleeping lots due to a new baby and launching a new business at the same time, probably wasn’t my smartest idea. However I’ve always believed that I work harder, achieve more and do things to the best of my ability when I’m facing a bit of adversity.

That’s not to say I don’t love, enjoy and work to my full potential on a day to day basis (I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be 7 1/2 years in the industry if I was half arsing it), I just seem to find that something special when I’m facing a daunting task.

Luckily for me, the hard work is already coming to fruition as I’ve had a couple of enquiries in regard to the new online system.

And before this turns into a bit of a ‘look how great I am’ blog, I just wanted to be really honest and open about what’s going on in life. That’s just how I am, both at home and at work.
